1. Who we are

LordOfTheLand (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a property management platform for Irish landlords, operated at lordoftheland.space. We are the data controller for the personal data processed through this service.

For data enquiries, contact us at privacy@lordoftheland.space.

2. What data we collect

We collect and store the following personal data:

  • Account data — your name and email address when you register.
  • Property and tenancy data — property addresses, rent amounts, lease dates, RTB registration numbers, BER cert details, and other information you enter.
  • Tenant data — names and email addresses of tenants you invite to the platform.
  • Uploaded documents — files you upload (lease agreements, certificates, etc.) stored in our cloud storage.
  • Maintenance requests — descriptions, photos, and status updates submitted by you or your tenants.
  • Messages — messages exchanged between landlords and tenants within the platform.
  • Rent payment records — payment dates, amounts, and status logs.

We do not collect payment card data. We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.

3. Why we process your data (legal basis)

We process your data to provide the service you signed up for (contract performance), including:

  • Authenticating your account
  • Storing and displaying your property and tenancy data
  • Sending automated email reminders (RTB renewals, cert expiry, rent overdue)
  • Enabling communication between landlords and tenants

We also have a legitimate interest in maintaining the security and integrity of the platform.

4. Who we share your data with

We use the following third-party processors to operate the service. Each is bound by data processing agreements and EU-adequate data protection standards:

  • Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage (EU region).
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (automated reminders and notifications).
  • Vercel — application hosting and serverless functions (EU region where available).

We do not sell your data to third parties.

5. Data retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all data associated with your account — including properties, tenancies, documents, maintenance requests, messages, and rent records — is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems.

Tenant data (name, email) added by a landlord is also deleted when the landlord deletes their account.

6. Your rights under GDPR

As a data subject in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure — delete your account and all associated data at any time via Settings → Danger zone.
  • Restriction — request that we limit how we process your data.
  • Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@lordoftheland.space. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (Ireland's supervisory authority).

7. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and row-level security on our database. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

9. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of Ireland and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679.
