Terms of Service
Last updated: 6 April 2025
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of LordOfTheLand, a property management platform operated at lordoftheland.space(“the Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What the Service provides
LordOfTheLand provides tools to help Irish landlords manage properties, track rent, store documents, monitor compliance deadlines, and communicate with tenants. The Service is provided as-is on a free basis and is intended as an organisational aid only.
3. Your responsibilities
- Accuracy of data — You are responsible for the accuracy of all data you enter, including property details, rent amounts, tenant information, and RTB registration numbers.
- Legal compliance — You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable Irish and EU law, including the Residential Tenancies Acts, RTB registration obligations, GDPR requirements relating to tenant data you process, and tax obligations to Revenue. LordOfTheLand does not provide legal, financial, or tax advice.
- Account security — You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Tenant data — When you add tenant information to the platform, you act as a data controller for that data. You must have a lawful basis to process it and must comply with your obligations under GDPR.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Upload or transmit unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent content
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
- Interfere with the operation of the Service or other users' accounts
- Use the Service for any purpose other than legitimate property management
5. Email reminders and notifications
The Service sends automated emails (RTB renewal reminders, cert expiry warnings, rent overdue alerts, etc.) as a convenience. These reminders are not a substitute for your own due diligence. We do not guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of any automated notification. You should maintain your own independent record of compliance deadlines.
6. Intellectual property
All content, design, and code that forms the Service is owned by LordOfTheLand. You retain ownership of any data you upload or create within the Service.
7. Account termination
You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Danger zone. Deletion permanently removes all your data from our systems.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used for unlawful purposes, with or without notice.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from loss of data.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, LordOfTheLand shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, including loss of data, missed compliance deadlines, or regulatory penalties. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed €100.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or by a notice within the Service. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
